As an architectural firm, we specialise in building construction, refurbishment with conversion and new construction planning. We are happy to work on a wide range of construction projects, including older buildings and listed buildings, and attach great importance to sustainable construction. Our guiding principle is: Build well - live better. We would like to express our philosophy of architecture with a quote from Gadamer (1990, p161): “A building reaches beyond itself in two ways. It is determined as much by the purpose it is intended to serve as by the place it has to occupy in the overall spatial context. Every master builder has to reckon with both. Its design is itself determined by the fact that the building is intended to serve a way of life and has to fit in with natural and structural conditions. We call a successful building a happy solution, meaning both that it fulfils its purpose perfectly and that it adds something new to the urban or rural landscape through its construction. The building also represents a real increase in being through this double categorisation. In other words, it is a work of art.” We therefore endeavour to create special works and to be the first port of call for our customers.

Why do I need an Architect?

In order to be able to carry out a new build or conversion, every building owner needs an authorised building application from the city. In order to be able to submit the building application, the building application plans must be signed by an architect. Apart from signing the building application, builders could theoretically plan, design and manage everything themselves. But do you really want to deal with the 3,000 or so norms and standards for the construction sector or the state regulations?

To ensure that the costs, construction time and quality of the refurbishment, new build or conversion meet the clients expectations and the current state of the art, construction companies must be contacted in good time, commissioned in writing with a contract and their work coordinated, monitored and approved. Architects know what matters in the construction industry.

The Federal Republic of Germany has recognised a scale of fees for architects and engineers (HOAI) to ensure architects are remunerated adequately. The HOAI regulates key services, which must be contractually agreed upon between architects and builders. There is scope for remuneration and additional services. In the different HOAI phases, the architects fee is weighted and regulated as a percentage of the chargeable construction sum, taking into account the respective complexity of each construction project.
